El-Ashrak village calls upon you... Save us from corruption!!

In 1960 the Agrarian Reform Authority distributed 221 acres on the farmers at the rate of one acre and 16 carats per farmer, on the condition that each farmer pays an annual premium to own the land. The situation continued like that until 1973 when someone named Fahim Hassan Khattab, who made land rent contracts to the farmers, as he is the rightful owner of the land who bought it from the Ministry of El-Awqaf, as he claims, after the Agrarian Reform authority left the land management to the Ministry of El-Awqaf!!!
After the application of law 96 of 92 in 1997 the property claimer filed a lawsuit based on the rent contracts to expel the farmers from the land, and he obtained courts rulings in his favor which expel the farmers from their land!!.
The farmers have filed lawsuits to challenge the court rulings and stop their implementation. And since then, the farmers are facing the thugs, whom the property claimer hires from time to time. Those thugs beat the farmers with sticks and weapons, and destruct their grains, which results in the arrest and detention of the farmers in El-Rahmanya police station. and while the thugs walk away without being arrested or detained, the farmers and their families continue to be detained without any legitimate cause. In addition to the arbitrary use of power by the police officers of El-Rahmanya police station, as they pressure the farmers and threaten them with detention to leave their agricultural land, which is their only source of income, in addition to the extortion practiced on them by the whistle-blowers and employees of the various governmental bodies!!.
The Land Center for Human Rights demands that Ministers of agriculture and El-Awqaf intervene and conduct an investigation with the governmental employees regarding the manipulation, which was made in favor of some property claimers, and that they give the land once again to the farmers. The LCHR also demands that the Minister of the Interior intervenes to stop the violation of the rights of farmers and their illegal detention by the police officers of El-Rahmanya police station.
The LCHR also demands that the civil society institutions and the members of the People's Assembly and Shura Council unite in solidarity with the demands of farmers to ensure their rights to safe ownership of their land and to a decent living.
