The missing and the dead call the officials to address the causes of illegal immigration and to stop the arrests
Mahmoud migrated to Italy .... no one heard from for two years since then. His mother says: he used to work for daily wages since he was 17 years old ...... he always wanted to get married .... he was the one who supported the family since his father got sick .... we want our son .... where is he went?
This was the story of Mrs. Nagia, as she confirmed in her complaint to the Land Center that her son is missing since 13/9/2007 where he was working on the fishing boat "Omaima and Rasha" in that day the owner of the boat had it sailing sending young people to work illegally in Italy.
During the journey and because of the death of many young immigrants in the boat because of the circumstances of the journey, the boat sailed back to Bogaz Coast and the police arrested everyone on the vessel and took the bodies of migrants and handed them over to their relatives, and the authorities arrested three of the organizers of the trip to Italy but Mahmoud was still missing since then, and one of the trip organizers threatened to kill Mohamed if he appears.
Since that incident, rumors spread that a colleague named Yusuf Hassan Abdo knew and had worked on the same boat with Mahmoud and handed over his mobile phone to his mother, said that he returned to the port, and the mother received a phone call from one of the survivors who recalled that her son was kidnapped from Rasheed in order not to tell on the rest of bands who work in illegal migration, and that he is in one of their prisons, and he will appear after the release of the detainees from detention.
The mother presented a communication to the police station of Motobas about her son who disappeared, and applied for a police report in Rasheed police station for the abduction of her son, but they refused to record the kidnapping incident. And the mother goes each month Matobas police station to make the same statement about her son's disappearance, and all that she wishes is the investigation into the truth about the disappearance of her sons
The LCHR presented communiqué No. 9490 in 20/5/2009 to the Attorney-General in order to interrogate the accused in case No. 6708 for 2008 of illegal migration on the ship, which was boarded by Mahmoud who is still missing to locate his abduction area.
The Center calls upon the members of the People's Assembly and Shura Council to unite in solidarity with the rights of migrant workers and small-scale fishermen and stop arresting them and accusing them of facilitating illegal migration. And the need for the application of alternative policies to stop illegal immigration and tackle the economic, social and cultural causes to guarantee the rights of migrants in a decent life, adequate work, freedom and safety.
