The Nursing body in Kafr El Battikh requests its financial dues
The Center has received dozens of complaints from Kafr El Battikh hospital staff & nurses, demanding the need to apply to the Prime Minister's decree on the financial dues up from 25% to 75% of salary, after the administration have to issue it from the beginning of 2008, but it stopped it in January 2009, alleging that it is non-legal to combine dues for working in the evening and the incentive financial dues.
The Center states that the incentive allowance for working at night especially for nurses is necessary for doing extraordinary efforts, as the Prime Minister issued for them 75% of their salary, incentive is no more than five pounds at a time when nurses spend more than 10 pounds a day for food and transportation at night to get to their homes in different villages.
The Center is surprised by the actions of the Department of Kfar Battikh Hospital, while plagued by most of the peoples of the world as a result of the negative effects of the economic crisis and the government to increase salaries and stop the policies of expulsion and displacement of workers and intransigence towards its surprise, the Egyptian authorities in the management of Kafr Battikh hospital infringement on the rights of nurses and the application of the law, but contrary infringement of the Prime Minister and excluding employed nurses from cashing their financial dues.
The Center presents an appeal to the Administrative Judicial Court for the cancellation of the administrative decision of Kafr El Battikh hospital for violation of the law and administrative decisions issued arbitrarily not taking into account the non-regular efforts of nurses who stay up late next to the sick and the reception of emergency cases, which threatens their rights to decent work and impact health care for the people of Damietta governorate.
The Center filed a complaint for the nurses to the Prime Minister and Minister of Health, asking for the need for an incentive payment for Kafr El Battikh hospital nurses and retrospectively since appointed and compensation for damage caused to them as demanded by civil society organizations and interested health care, and members of the People's Assembly and Shura Council in solidarity with the demands of nurses to ensure their rights to decent work and safe living.
