How can corruption in government bodies, which its price is paid by the poor citizens, be stopped?
During the last period the Land Center for Human Rights received many complaints, which demonstrate the continuing corruption in some government bodies, which the poor and the marginalized in our country carry its responsibility. For example, and in a clear violation of the law, Mr. Saied Tolba confirms that someone with influence has trespassed on his land, which he bought more than 25 years ago in the area of Eastern Bilbeis in 1986, from the Egyptian company for trade and marketing, for the propose of building a house on it. But he was surprised by a businessman, who owns a piece of land next to him, taking the land which he owns and adding it to his land, which made him file many police reports against him, and file complaints with the competent authorities to get back his land, but his reports and complaints were ignored and neglected. He tried many times to meet the company owner or his representative to get back his land, but nobody paid him any attention…
The LCHR wonders how a person can trespass on the land of another person in violation of the all the registered documents and contracts? And what can the aforementioned citizen do in front of this tyranny and in front of the complicity and neglect of all government bodies, and their lack of commitment to implement the law? Whom might he go to? Or what can he do after he filed complaints to all the competent authorities and nobody responded to him?
The LCHR submits the complaints of the citizens to the officials at the various departments, demanding that the Ministers of Health, Higher Education, Agriculture and Housing investigate the complaints of the citizens and their demands to ensure their right to the safety of their land and their right to health, decent work, security, and a decent life.
