In Zaqazeeq, teachers are being fired and violated

LCHR has received many complaints from the teachers of El Shobban El Muslimeen schools in Zaqazeeq. In their complaints, they have mentioned their suffering of the arbitrary treatment by the chairman of the board of El Shobban El Muslimeen association that supervises El Shobban El Muslimeen schools.
Some of the procedures done by the chairman of the board against these school teachers were:
• Not paying them the exam bonuses with a minimum limit of 9 pounds a day for 200 days according to the ministerial decision no. 150 issued on 30/5/2006.
• Not giving them raises with a minimum limit of 3 pounds starting from July 2006.
• Subtracting a two months value from their salaries.
• Not paying them a bonus of 25% of their salaries for June, July and August of each year according to the ministerial decisions.
• Not allowing them to have their regular holidays.
The teachers presented their complaints to the Ministry of Education and the central for observation and administration, but there was no response. Actually, the chairman of the board of El Shobban El Muslimeen association has issued a decision to fire all the teachers whose names were mentioned in the complaint.
LCHR sees that guaranteeing teachers rights and respecting their educational role is part of the education quality that the Ministry of Education is talking about.
LCHR presents these complaints to the Ministry of Education and the Zaqazeeq Governor demanding them to investigate these complaints and stop these violations.
