Hundreds of thousands of farmers are demanding to stop the looting and corruption

The land Centre held a meeting with a number of people of the El Imam Malek village, El Natroon Valley, Behiera at the village mosque on Sunday, 30/ 5 / 2011 to help them create a union for farmers victims of policies of plunder and corruption. Those people suffered and still suffering from the domination and tyranny of personnel of the Ministry of Agriculture where the ministry handed over 2 acres and 12 carats for all the affected by the application of the laws 96 & 92 who met the conditions decades ago. Since the return of this space does not meet the need for each family because of the high prices of fertilizer and land need to many elements so that it can return some profits to sustain these families, particularly as the state used to impose the amount of fifteen thousand pounds on each victim be paid in annual installments in addition to the consumption of electricity which reaches for more than two hundred pounds a month and sometimes as the calculation of the premiums of not less than the amount of six hundred pounds per month in addition to the expenses and family needs necessary for the continued revival in the villages of the desert, the affected farmers were not able to provide such sums of money that has accumulated debt to them and they sell those pieces to other farmers for small amounts of not more than ten thousands pounds, is part of what their losses, and during that the agricultural management by requiring time buyers to pay the amount of twenty-two thousand pounds per acre and committed buyers, who replaced the injured payment and demanded that the ministry of obsolete and squatters amount of fifty-five thousand pounds for the object no more than one and 2 acres and half addition to the price of the house, which has a twenty-two thousand pounds.
But new buyers and squatters on an area of 2 acres and half are living in poverty, ignorance and disease and the monthly and annual premiums has been fed up with regulations to make people and enjoyed their terror and dispossession of their rights to decent living.
Instead of being backed up by the State, it imposes additional amounts or installments or annual value of electricity, water or other types of taxes and fines by Mubarak’s immoral regime which became famous for, the regime which suck the blood of the poor and made their lives a living hell.
The Centre raises the demands of both farmers and squatters in the reclaimed land which have less than five acres to exempt them from all the premiums, fines, interest and taxes because they are Egyptians who deserve a decent living, which must be guaranteed for them by the State and they demand to halt the trade of their rights in safe agriculture and decent living.
Those farmers who are not less than one million farmers Egyptian carrying ID cards ask the military council and the caretaker government to halt the looting of their rights by the staff of the former regime in the form of collecting premiums and patrol fines, and they are demanding the authorities the introduction of public utilities to their homes, away from construction and building hospitals and modern schools to educate their children. The rights of hundreds of thousands of farmers called The Land center to hold repeated meetings with them to support their rights to organize and form new agricultural trade unions as a substitute for the Assemblies of government agricultural which practice looting their rights and robbing their lives for the sake of the remnants of the corrupt regime which is still at the helm of life in the Egyptian countryside.
