In a caucus of land center,
Protests and uprisings in modern history
Dear Friends,
Land Center for Human Rights is pleased to invite you to attend a seminar on "The protests and uprisings in modern history" in order to complement meetings held by the centre on studying the history of the rebellions and the struggle of the Egyptian people against tyranny and oppression. This seminar aims to understand the nature of the crisis that our country goes through, and how to overcome them, for the benefit of workers, peasants, artisans and producers in our country.
It will start by the presentation of researcher Professor / Abdul Aziz Jamaluddin, who will review the most important revolutions, rebellions and the date of the peasants, handicrafts, and the people movement and its role in building a personal culture of the Egyptian and their resistance across history and civilization. Moreover, the Center is pleased to invite you to the fourthcaucus that will deal with:
Said Pasha: (The Said's decree and its impact on social movement, cancel of tributes (Al-Jezyya) in 1855, recruitment of Copts in the Egyptian army, contact with the outside world).
Ismail Pasha: (attempts to establish a modern civil state and independence from the Ottoman Empire, the flourish of the National Societies Associations, Association of Young Egypt 1878, Islamic Charitable Society of Nadim 1879, the establishment of the National Party headed by Orabi 1879 and the principle of Egypt for the Egyptians, the Shura Council of Country Representatives and the attempt to establish a constitution for the country).
Tewfik Pasha: (The conflict between the Egyptian national and foreign influence; in particular the British and the French- the Orabi Revolution and the British occupation, and the ignition of the Egyptian dispure internationally).
King Fouad: (protest movements, trade union and prosperity of political life).
National issue until the 1919 revolution, revolution and Property Declaration and the Constitution of 1923 and the 1936 Treaty.
King Farouk: (Movements of social and political protest in Egypt till 1952).
This will be followed on by the paper of Professor / Farid Zahran - Director of El-Mahrousa Center. The meeting will be held on Thursday, 08.07.2010, at land center in Cairo on the new title:
76 Republic Street, Apartment 67 - the eighth floor next to the Mosque of al-Fath - Uzbek - Cairo.
