Ahmed Seif El eslam ," Mubarak's regime became addicted to fake the elections because it is hated by the people and rejected by its foreign masters".
Sobhy Saleh ," The British occupation permitted press liberty and elections and political parties".
Esam Sheiha ," The Egyptian regime did what the couldn't be done by occupation".
On 30/5/2010 The Land Center held a workshop entitled "Absurd elections done by the ruling system in Egypt" in its residence in the attendance f 43 participants from the governorates of Cairo, Giza,6th of October, Qalyubia , Port Said , Alexandria , Kafr El Sheikh , Behira , El Fayoum , Bani Sweif , El menia as representatives of the rural civil society organizations , Peasant leaders , rural parties in addition to politicians and jurists , some Parliament members , some Shura Counsel members and media workers. The work shop started with an opening speech by Karam Saber, the administrative director of the center, which discussed the reasons that made the center hold event at this particular timing.
The first session discussed the aspect The Egyptian political scene a dark tunnel or a glare of hope presented by Farid Zahran the prisedent of Masr El mahrosa Center concerning the wide movements in the Egyptian society in its various sectors. Abd El ghaffar Shokr ,the president of The Arabian Researches Center, spoke in this meeting pointing that the present political scene is a continuing impact to the global policies that the Egyptian government applied since 1990 till now. And Egypt became an estate that is run by a group of individuals that are conducting as if it is their own heritage in the time that is witnessing rising protests and strikes that exceeded 3000 protests in the last period asking for economical social rights and political reformations granting better life for them and a safe peaceful circulation of power. Abo El ezz El hariri , the previous member of parliament , assured that if the confidence atmosphere that provides general trust that enables the civilian to choose the best candidate is provided , so this will be the most perfect atmosphere to practice democracy. El hariri concentrated also on the idea that we should have a good democratic life that leads to a good political life which results in truthful elections and wise government.
Ahmed Seif El eslam ,the president of Hisham Mubarak Law Center expressed counting that fakeness became the essential characteristic for this regime in Egypt. The encounters of this meeting showed how bad the partisan and parliamentary life in Egypt is and how one party seizes all the power in a tyrannical way in all the life fields in Egypt.
The 3rd meeting was about Sharing or not participating for real political reformation presented by Wafaa El masry ,a lawyer and human rights active member, who expressed that when the elections are real , the circulation of power is real as well and that the change must be done in a peaceful way in Egypt. Sobhi Saleh , The Muslim brotherhood Member of parliament , declared that we live a current general faking in all the elections that we witnessed and even the coming ones with the ruling regime in Egypt.
Esam Sheha , El wafd high committee member , spoke considering that there is no difference or disagreement in the Egyptian street about the inevitable change or the overcoming desire to place change. But, where is this change taking us?? At last there was the 4th session which was about the rural and urban society role in approving the right to share and to self determine. Mahmoud Mortada , the president of the Alternative Developing center who declared the importance of the coming phase in Egypt's history as it will determine Egypt's future in the coming 6 years after the presidential elections in 2011.
He asked the attendants four questions. They are:
What are the organizations concerned with peasants and countyside?
What are the peasants' political cases and rights?
What is the rural organization's role in the political rights and the elections participation awareness?
What is the role of the rural organizations in the observation when participating in the elections?
