The rights of peasants and peasant women in rural areas and stopping the violence against them
The LCHR held a Symposium on "the rights of peasants and peasant women in rural areas and to stop violence against them" in partnership with the Diocese Catholic Copts in Minya on Thursday 27/5/2010 From nine o'clock until one in the afternoon. The seminar was attended by sixty-seven farmers, teachers, agronomists and representatives of some associations civil and rural areas.
The meeting discussed the problems of peasants, workers, women and children and highlighted the role of the center in the publication of numerous reports and studies to address these problems. It discussed the problems related to agriculture, crop failures, water, the rising price of raw materials, which resulted from the failed policies of the government. It also discussed the participation of women and everything they suffer from. It discussed the consequences of violence, and their right to equality in pay and work and be provided by legal protection.
In conclusion, human rights must be a reference for each of our actions and are our salvation to build the future, and the security of our people in Egypt.
