Rural associations, hope for reform

A Land Center for Human Rights held the training workshop on "Empowerment of rural development association .. hope for reform in Egypt" on Wednesday and Thursday, 27 & 28/1/2010, respectively, at the Center.
In the training, experts from international organizations had participated in the proceeding. The workshop aimed to enable the rural development association to develop and strengthen their skills and their physical and human resources, so as to contribute in solving the problems of rural society, achieve the objectives of NGOs and ensure their participation in a better world. (20) Rural organizations, represented by (42) trainees, have been trained in that workshop, where the percentage of trained women has amounted to more than (70%) from various governorates, numbered to (10) governorates. Representatives of the institution of Jeterak, the Commission Housing and Land Rights, the International Foundation for Development and International Institution of safety have participated in training. The training focused on issues related to the concept of strategic planning for the management of associations, how to follow-up, implementation and evaluation methods of the plans and activities and the shortest route to achieve the goals and vision of the future and the formulation of the message. It also included a training gap analysis, and analysis of the environment and analysis of the parties concerned with the activities of the Association and to identify priorities and ways to achieve the mission of the Assemblies of rural development, and how to develop the general form of the proposal and implementation of strategic plans to achieve its mission and objectives of the association of citizens, and improving conditions in rural Egypt so as to ensure their rights to equality, security and a decent life.
