The woman and election programs

Al Ard center has held a forum Mansheyet AbdelRahman village in Dakahleya on the 10h of July 2009, to discuss the role women in participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Forty ladies who are members in local organizations in Dekrans county in addition to other ladies who are board members of youth centers and agricultural associations and some members of local councils in Dekrans county, and some villages. The discussions focused on gender programs in he upcoming parliamentary elections a with respect to justice, equity and non discrimination especially in he fields of labor, secured farming, inheritance and marriage. The forum has also discussed how necessary it is for members of the upcoming parliament to include gender issues in their election programs, women's demands, and rights. Furthermore the role of female rural pioneers in supporting women's participation in the choice of parliament members who support in turn the issues of rural women and includes hem in heir programs and election demands. The attendees have requested repeating the forum in all the villages in Dekrans county to teach women how to participate in the upcoming elections to elect those whose objectives are to their best interest.
