How can we rise with rural women under the current economic crisis?
Currently, the world is passing through an economic crisis that has led to the collapse of the world markets, affecting human rights and people's lives everywhere economically, socially and culturally, especially in Egypt.
Although women represent half the society, researchers do not pay much attention to how much this economic crisis has affected women in general and rural women in specific.
Through LCHR's message and concern to improve the living conditions in the countryside and reinforce and support both male and female farmers to guarantee their rights to equality and decent living, the LCHR will organize a training workshop about how to develop the conditions of rural women and guarantee their right to participation through rural national associations that would pay more attention to women's issues and implement developmental programs that would enable women of practicing their rights.
The LCHR will organize this training workshop at its new headquarter on Thursday 16/4/2009 from 10:00 A.M. to 05:00 P.M.
The workshop will discuss the effects of the economic crisis on women's conditions and the different views of the government, organizations and political parties about the role of women in developing the economic, social and cultural conditions. The workshop is also set to crystallize practical programs for national associations to reinforce and support rural women to improve their conditions and guarantee their rights to equality and decent living in order to rise with our country.
