Wells digging Workers laying their independent union To support their rights to have decent jobs

The Land Center for Human Rights held a training workshop for wells digging workers. The meeting was attended by more than 25 workers leaders in the fame of establish a trade union to defend their common interests.
The first session was moderated by Abdullah Al maamoon, a researcher with The Land Center, who talked about the current situation in Egypt and the right of trade union organization, explaining the differences between political parties and trade unions.
The participations of the attendants posts the importance of the struggle to complete the tasks of the revolution in the prosecution of the corrupted and the application of the principle of the revolution in the equitable distribution of wealth and power.
The attendants were then split into groups and shown the first set and the objectives of the Association were as follows:
1 - Improving the working conditions (working hours, vacations and breaks, meals and transport)
2 - Health insurance for workers
3 - The care of older workers
4 - Pay the wages of workers in the drilling of wells
5 - Pay compensation of work injuries, and pensions for workers
6 – The adoption of the profession of drilling wells in the National ID cards, issuance of permits and licenses necessary for workers to protect them
7 - The establishment of economic projects to improve the conditions of members
8 - The representation of members in front of all judicial bodies and other
9 - Informing workers of their rights members
The second group reported on the conditions of membership and the Union were as follows:
• All of the practices a profession paid well drilling
• be at least 18 years of age and not more than 65 years
• may not be the holder of the agricultural land of more than one acre
• the obligation to pay monthly subscription of five Egyptian pounds
• may not be a member of the board of directors of the cooperative farm or a local council or former Trustees of the basal units of the National Party dissolved This is a preliminary list until the adoption of a comprehensive list of financial and administrative approval by all members of the Assembly in their first meeting after incorporation during the first year of publicity.
Participants then agreed to include a list of the union penalties and the union specializations of responsibilities apparatus to transmit the administration
The participants considered the union devices as follows:
1 – The general assembly: the highest authority and one of its unique powers is the preparation of the regulations, modifying it, and suggesting the candidates of the Board of Directors or isolate one of its members if the reasons for that appear.
2 - Board of Directors: It was agreed among those present to be elected by the General Assembly of the seven members.
It was also agreed that the penalties are as follows:
- Freezing the membership if the member fails to pay the membership fee and the re-activation should be once the payment is made.
- Board of Directors is resolved by the General Assembly if he breaches the objectives of the union or work against the interests of members
- The Board of Directors handles the freezing of any of the members(the board or the general assembly) in case of breach of the objectives of the Union or acting against the interests that it is displayed to the General Assembly at its first meeting.
It was agreed, including the registration of trade union papers tomorrow, the Office of the Ministry and requested by the participants from The Land Center coordinate training workshops on how to manage the Association and the Joint Action
