Egypt's workers have the right to social insurance

The LCHR held a meeting attended by thirty workers from different companies on 19.5.2010. the meeting discussed the rights of workers in social security as a natural right of workers, as it aims to protect them from the work injury and disability, disease and aging, the meeting discussed the fears of workers from health insurance bill put forward by the government as the meeting stressed the need to reform the social insurance system in the development and granting privileges to users and pensioners. LCHR believes that it must stop the depletion of the insurance money in compliance with laws and that the State is required to pay the Social Insurance Fund to finance the independence of the Fund. LCHR calls on the human rights organizations, trade unions and people's deputies to unite in an effort to protect the insurance funds, in solidarity to work together to ensure the rights of workers to a decent and safe life.
