Rural women and the resistance

In preparation for the Journal of the land "women and resistance," the LCHR held a meeting on 1/6/2010 with 15 women working in agriculture and some peasant women from different governorates. The meeting stressed that the Egyptian agriculture in turn has been heavily involved in the fight against the invaders. Although the role of peasant women big in the production process, they do not receive a wage equal to their male counterparts: not to mention the extension of this serious violation of any of the items of labor laws, they are deprived of any safeguards guaranteed by the labor laws. This injustice has spread to the new Labor Law No. 12 of 2003 in accordance with Article 79 of this law, which stresses deprive farm workers of their legal rights. And also the right to deny social security umbrella protect them from risk of disability, injury, illness and old age, unemployment and death to be completed by the government tightening the seminar held at the neck of the Egyptian Agriculture struggling laws promulgated by the Government from time to time to refer her life a living hell. Despite all that farming was able to make a number of models, which emphasizes the strength and reflect the selfless bravery and active involvement of the middle of all those conditions that cripple the working conditions and the prevailing culture of customs and traditions. The meeting stressed the importance of the work of the LCHR in issuing periodicals featuring stories of the heroism and struggle of women to guarantee their rights to equality.
