Political participation and the hindrances o development

On 29/5/2006, LCHR has held a symposia in Akyad El Behira village – Sharqeya governorate about political participation and the hindrances that prevent farmers from it, such as: the deterioration of the educational process, the lack of awareness about the importance of participation, citizens mistrust to the government's credibility and the deterioration of the economic and social conditions in the countryside. The meeting has presented the laws that organize the right to participation and the role of the farmers inside their villages to support this right. The participants have discussed the necessity of establishing a national association to support the right to participation and improve farmers economic and social conditions.
