How to establish an association to support the right to participation

On 7/4/2006, LCHR has held a symposium in Nakla village – Giza governorate. 40 participants have attended this symposium; most of them were farmers and young people with different qualifications, in addition to a number of local leaders from the village. The meeting has discussed the different stages to establish an association and how to overcome the bureaucratic obstacles that founders face. The meeting has also discussed the village problems especially the lack of services, and how can a newly established association in the village improve the conditions of development and participation there. The message and activities for the intended association were defined, and the practical steps to solve the village problems were also specified. The association will help some leaders in the local elections by observing these elections and raising farmers awareness about their right to participation.
