My sister; what does social insurance mean? How useful is it?
Social insurance is a sum of money, which is given to citizens in specific cases, for instance if any one faces work accident or be in pension. It is not a governmental gift or grant because of many reasons;
- Firstly, every labor serves the country for many years. Therefore, he deserves to get what satisfy him when he stops working.
- Secondly, widows need money to pay for their kids’ education to be good youth, who will serve their country in the future.
- All people pay taxes to the government to give it to poor people.
Therefore, social insurance is reasonable right that we have to ask for.
There are two problems that female farmers, especially those who work in farms, are suffering from. Firstly, they work without any guarantees that if anyone of them stops working or have an accident, she can’t pay for her expenses. Secondly, the pension that the widow or divorced woman has is so little that it is not more than seventy pounds, which isn’t enough for life expenses. Although prices rate is increasing every day, the pension is always fixed. Moreover, when one of the kids marries, about twenty to forty pounds are discounted from the pension.
The government always says that there is no money and it can’t do any thing for poor people but it collects taxes from all labors in farms, factories and offices. Moreover, it helps owners to evict both your husband and you from your land without paying any damages. It lets rich people to erect hotels and restaurants which you will never visit. Therefore, it should issue laws that obligate landlords to pay for labors’ insurance. Moreover, it should obligate money owners to pay real taxes for benefits of poor people.
Simply, female farmers, widows and divorced women should ask for their right in social insurance by filing lawsuits and asking representatives of parliament who may lead to impose social insurance. Moreover, widows should ask for pension increase. Women and men have to assemble together to ask for their right in insurance because both of them is suffering from the same problem. There is law that guarantees our rights. Therefore, we must defend our rights by being in solidarity against any obstacle in order to protect our right in life.
