Elections of the Labor Syndicates
The LCHR has issued report no. 21 of the Civil Society series. The report presents the relation between the upcoming labor elections and the current developments in the Egyptian society on the political, economic and social levels, indicating the deterioration of these conditions because of the implementation of the economic liberation policies.
The report indicates the absence of the role of syndicates in fighting such policies that violate workers rights. The report also discusses the rights of workers to freely choose their representatives in the labor syndicates. The report also presents the legal framework to organizing a labor syndicate, indicating the texts of the Egyptian constitution that guarantee this right.
The report also shows the roles and goals of the labor syndicates, in addition to presenting the stages and conditions of the electoral process.
At the end, the report also presents some final remarks and recommendations regarding the change process that Egypt is passing through.
